About Blueberry Barn, Bruton

Blueberry Barn is located approximately three miles from the historic town of Bruton in Somerset, set on a glorious private dairy farm with stunning views. It is a purpose-built wood-clad modern ‘barn conversion’ and ideal for families looking for a relaxing holiday.

 

What makes it so unique is that the open plan living area has a double height ceiling, making it very light and airy.  It also has its own fenced off garden, ideal for dogs, and a very private outlook. It sleeps six people in three bedrooms and two bathrooms. 

Blueberry Barn is ideally located for families or friends wanting to explore Somerset and visit the many local attractions and sits in the middle of 200 acres of privately owned farmland, the fields are criss-crossed with public footpaths and bridleways and which you are welcome to explore It is incredibly peaceful; you will only hear birdsong or cows mooing. 

We are only 3 miles from Bruton, and 10 miles from Frome. Nearest station is Bruton or Castle Cary. Nearest Supermarket is Sainsbury’s in Frome, and there are smaller convenience stores in Bruton.

The Barn

Blueberry Barn has recently been redecorated with new carpets and flooring, offering comfortable beds with top quality bed linen and fluffy towels.  

 

Every effort has been made to make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible for your stay; a real home from home.  

 

The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of serving dishes and glassware, you can eat out on the patio outside, which has a table and dining chairs for 6, as well as parasol and a Gas BBQ, and an all-weather sofa.  

 

Board games, and books are available to you during your stay and if you require anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact us as we live nearby.

Tranquil Setting

The setting is idyllic; an incredibly tranquil, rural location approximately four miles from the historic town of Bruton in Somerset.

Guests will have the entire house and garden to themselves. Our farmhouse is adjacent in a different courtyard but the two properties do not overlook so you will have complete privacy.

 

Guests can walk across the farm on various bridleways and footpaths and can use the tennis court within hours to be discussed. 

A spacious lawn and a paved sitting out area, surrounded by green fields. By the entrance is a small covered garage area, ideal for storing bikes. There is parking outside for up to three cars in the yard.

Ground Floor

Hallway leading to Bedroom 1: a twin room with beds side by side which could be converted into a super-king bed by advance request. There is a separate shower room and WC, with heated towel rail and tiled floor.  

A large utility room with its own outside entrance (ideal for muddy boots) with a large freestanding fridge and freezer, a washing machine, hoover, iron and ironing board. 

A short flight of stairs leads up.

First Floor

The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is light and airy benefiting from a double height ceiling. Seating for six on two sofas and armchair, coffee table, wide screen 46” TV, with satellite channels. A very efficient wood burning stove is available for your use and we will provide you with a basket of logs, and more if you run out. 

The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, small undercounter fridge, microwave, full size dishwasher, toaster, kettle, plenty of plates, glasses, pots, pans, serving dishes.  Dining area with seating for six.  French doors leading to outside sitting area. Another short flight of stairs leads up to second floor.

Second Floor

Bedroom 2 has a kingsize bed (150cm wide); Bedroom 3 has a double bed, (140cm wide.)  There is also a cot/small bed in this room suitable for infants until 4 years old.   

 

On this same floor is a bathroom, comprising a bath with overhead shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
